Terms of Service

1. The Service

igbento is a tool for Instagram that lets you download posts, Reels and saved posts, export followers and following lists, and find and unfollow accounts that don't follow you back. It works through your own logged-in Instagram session in your browser. You must be at least 18 years old to use paid features.

igbento is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Instagram or Meta. "Instagram" is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.

2. Your account

You can use some features without an account. Paid plans and account features require signing in with an email magic link or Google. You are responsible for your email account, for activity under your igbento account, and for keeping your sign-in links private. igbento never asks for your Instagram password.

3. Your responsibilities

• You must comply with Instagram's Terms of Use and all applicable laws when using igbento.
• Only download or export content that you own, have permission to use, or that you use for personal purposes permitted by law. Content on Instagram belongs to its creators. You are responsible for how you use what you download.
• Do not use the Service to harass others, to spam, to collect data for unlawful purposes, or to infringe anyone's rights.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer for abusive purposes, or overload the Service or Instagram.
• Do not resell or share paid access in a way that circumvents plan limits.

4. Automated actions and account risk

Some features act on your Instagram account for you, such as scanning lists and unfollowing accounts. Instagram may limit, restrict, suspend or otherwise act against accounts that use automation or perform many actions. igbento paces its actions and applies daily limits to reduce this risk, but we cannot guarantee that Instagram will not restrict your account. You use these features at your own risk, and we are not liable for any restriction, suspension or loss related to your Instagram account.

5. Your data

Instagram data that igbento handles for you is stored locally on your device and in your Downloads folder, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for backing it up. You can delete it at any time. If you enable the optional cloud backup (beta), the data you choose to back up is stored on our cloud storage until you delete it. We may remove backed-up data after your account is closed.

6. Plans, payments and renewals

igbento offers a Free plan and paid Basic ($6.99 per month) and Pro ($9.99 per month) plans. Yearly billing is 50% cheaper than paying monthly for twelve months. Prices are in US dollars and may exclude taxes that are added at checkout. Features and limits of each plan are shown on the pricing page and may change over time.

Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. When you buy a paid plan you are purchasing from Paddle, which handles payment, invoicing, sales tax and VAT under its terms.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the customer portal on your Account page. After you cancel, your paid features continue until the end of the period you already paid for, and the subscription then ends. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

We may change prices for future billing periods. We will give advance notice and you can cancel before the change applies.

7. Beta features

Features marked Beta, including cloud backup, are still being tested. They may change, have rough edges, or be withdrawn.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service in line with these Terms. You keep your rights in your own content. Third-party names and trademarks, including Instagram, belong to their owners.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on Instagram, Chrome, Paddle, Google and other third parties. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, changes or policies. Changes on Instagram's side may cause features to stop working temporarily or permanently.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension and, if you have a subscription, cancelling it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will keep working with Instagram.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or Instagram account access, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you actually paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR, China, excluding its conflict of law rules. Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. If you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where you live.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes we will make reasonable efforts to give at least 30 days' notice before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
