How to download your followers list from Instagram
Instagram can send you a copy of your followers and following lists. It's free and only takes a few taps. The file usually arrives within minutes, sometimes a few hours for big accounts.

Open Accounts Center
In the Instagram app, tap your profile, then the menu (☰), then Accounts Center. On the web, open Settings, then Accounts Center.

Choose Download your information
Go to Your information and permissions, then Download your information (Instagram sometimes calls it Export your information). Pick Download or transfer information and choose your Instagram account.

Select only Followers and following
Choose Some of your information and tick Followers and following. Leaving out photos and messages keeps the file small and fast.

Pick JSON and All time
Download to device, set Date range to All time and Format to JSON. HTML also works here, JSON is just faster to read.

Download the ZIP and drop it above
Instagram notifies you when the file is ready. Download the ZIP and drop it into the checker. You don't need to unzip it.

Not following back vs. unfollowed you: two different questions
Most "unfollowers" tools mix these up. They need different data, and knowing the difference saves you from wrong answers.
Who doesn't follow you back
Accounts you follow that don't follow you. One export is enough: igbento compares your following list with your followers list. Some of these accounts never followed you in the first place, such as brands and celebrities.
Who unfollowed you
Accounts that used to follow you and no longer do. That needs two snapshots taken at different times. No tool can recover unfollows from before your first snapshot, whatever it claims.

How can I see who unfollowed me on Instagram?
Instagram doesn't notify you when someone unfollows you. Download your followers list from Instagram twice, some time apart, and drop both files into the Who unfollowed me tab. igbento lists every account that was a follower in the older file and isn't in the newer one.
Is this Instagram unfollowers checker really free?
Yes. The file checker is free with no sign-up and no limits on list size. It runs entirely in your browser, so it costs us nothing to run.
Do I have to give my Instagram password?
No. You never log in to Instagram through igbento here. You download your own data from Instagram, then open the file in this page. Be wary of any unfollowers app that asks for your password.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The files are read by JavaScript inside this browser tab. Nothing is sent to igbento's servers, and closing the tab clears the results.
Why is someone on the unfollowed list when they still follow me?
Instagram's export only contains usernames. If someone changed their username, they appear as a lost follower and as a new one. Deactivated accounts, accounts that blocked you and accounts Instagram removed also drop off your followers list.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Request the export in the Instagram app, download the ZIP and open this page in Safari or Chrome on your phone. Choose the file from your Downloads or Files app.
How is this different from unfollower apps?
Many unfollower apps ask you to log in to Instagram inside the app, which hands them your password. This checker uses the file Instagram gives you, and the igbento extension works through your own browser session. Neither one sees your password.
Can it show who unfollowed me before I started?
Only if you already have an older export. Instagram doesn't keep a history of who unfollowed you, so no tool can rebuild it. Start with an export today and compare against it later.
